Sanna Khoja, M.Ed., LPC

I help adults in a compassionate way with anxiety-based concerns, including OCD and trauma. In working with me, you’ll find a strengths-based approach that incorporates holistic, mind and body-centered practices.

I am a neurodivergent South Asian cis-woman who is a child of immigrants. I have a professional and personal understanding of generational trauma and healing. I will honor all the complexities of your identity and what makes you, you.

My approach

I am an EMDR and Brainspotting trained therapist who provides quality mental health care. As a licensed professional counselor, I help my clients by providing different modalities of therapy and coaching services.

You feel worried, overwhelmed, and tense. Your jaw hurts from clenching it all day. You’re crying and panicking every day. You feel like something is wrong with you. You’re exhausted from trying to make sure everything is perfect and on top of that, you’re tossing and turning every night. You are afraid of failing and you believe you might not ever be good enough. You find yourself thinking, “Something is wrong with me. Why am I feeling this way?”

My name is Sanna Khoja and I am a South Asian licensed professional counselor in Houston, TX.  I help anxious perfectionists who feel exhausted from the worries and pressure of life learn to let go of their unrealistic overarching expectations and live their lives. My clients not only experience relief from their anxiety, but they also find themselves living a life that is aligned with their values which leads to them improving their relationships, performance at work and school, and feeling confident in who they are.

I have had experience in many different settings which has allowed me to have individualized treatment with my clients. Learn more about my specialties, including anxiety, OCD & trauma. My clients typically see me once or twice weekly or biweekly and we jump right into anxiety relief in the first session. My style is casual, compassionate, and directive. My goals as your therapist are to help you gain knowledge of your symptoms, learn the skills to ground and calm your body and mind, and utilize the supportive resources within yourself and your environment to create the life you desire. Together, we will address where your concerns began and led you to where you are now. Shedding light on how your anxieties and depression were created is a powerful and healing experience. We will work on grounding yourself with mindfulness and restructuring your thinking patterns. (Yes, you will have homework!) We will uncover generational patterns and trauma and use some very effective, somatic brain-based tools to help you heal your emotional wounds. I want you to leave knowing you have the tools that you need to live a full life.
